Harrogate is a beautiful spa town in North Yorkshire and on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. Harrogate grew out of 2 settlements, High Harrogate and Low Harrogate. There are lots of lovely places to visit within Harrogate, such as the world famous Bettys Tea Rooms. Or you could take in the waters of Harrogate Spa, which was founded by William Slingsby in 1571 and because of the belief in the qualities of the spa water it was dubbed the ‘English Spa’ by Doctor Bright. There are many green spaces in Harrogate, the stray being one which is popular with runners and walkers alike. Harlow Gardens is only a short stroll from the Centre. The town also boasts its own theatre and it has an eclectic mix of restaurants and bars, not to mention all the wonderful shops. Harrogate has a good public transport network and can be reached by bus or train. No wonder it is constantly voted the best place to live in within England.
